I’m a professional editor, proofreader, and founder of my freelance business,
MST Editorial LLC.

Hello, I’m Miriam (Sabrina) Taveras.

In all aspects of the production workflow, I leave no stone unturned.

I’m a freelance developmental editor, copy editor, and proofreader with over 5 years of experience delivering market-ready manuscripts. I have a multi-genre track record of guaranteed polished editorial work, from my early and direct exposure to the publishing industry via my graduate studies at Emerson College to copyediting and proofreading 75+ fiction and nonfiction titles for Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group.

I’m a versatile freelance expert across the entire production workflow—from developmental editing to typesetting—trusted by trade publishers, indie authors, literary magazines, and advisory firm publications in the education sector to deliver exceptional quality under rigorous deadlines.

  • "Miriam was a joy to work with. While supportive of me as an author, in both her developmental and line edits, she was incredibly thorough, perceptive, and sharp. She has a deep grasp of all aspects of writing craft. Her developmental comments challenged me in constructive ways to deepen my memoir through more attention to reflection and more show-not-tell in key moments. Her line edits made the text crisper. My memoir is much improved because of Miriam's fine work."

More About Me

I’m a first-generation immigrant Latina from the Dominican Republic, currently living in Ocala, FL. After nurturing my love for words all throughout my childhood, I moved to the United States to pursue a career fueled by editing and book marketing.

In 2021, I published my honors undergraduate thesis as a chapbook of immigration poetry, as well as an independent research presentation formulating solutions to the internal lack of Latine diversity in the publishing industry. As of today, I’m the freelancer editor and proofreader behind MST Editorial LLC.

I love reading poetry, nonfiction essays, memoir, fantasy, and literary and speculative fiction. When I’m not editing, writing, or reading, I’m playing Pokémon for the umpteenth time.
