I’m a freelance editor specializing in developmental, line, and copy editing.
Hello, I’m Miriam (Sabrina) Taveras.
In both editing and marketing, I leave no stone unturned.
The way someone chooses to tell a story is key to its success. While there is no “right” way to edit, each story has a form perfect for its unique audience. A wise editor will turn every paragraph upside-down and inside-out in search of the best way to tell this story. As an editor in both professional and academic settings, I strive to help my clients in uncovering the best version of their work, in the way their readers want to consume it.
In my mission to become this bridge between writer and reader, I’ve helped transform the work of student-writers and seasoned authors alike—via developmental, line, and copy edits—into each piece’s most polished form. Check out more of what I’ve been involved in so far.
More About Me
I’m a first-generation immigrant Latina from the Dominican Republic, currently living in Ocala, FL. After nurturing my love for words all throughout my childhood, I moved to the United States to pursue a career fueled by editing and book marketing.
In 2021, I published my honors undergraduate thesis as a chapbook of immigration poetry, as well as an independent research poster and presentation formulating solutions to the internal lack of Latine diversity in the publishing industry. As of today, I’m a graduate student at Emerson College pursuing an MA in Publishing and Writing.
I love reading poetry, nonfiction essays, memoir, and literary and speculative fiction. When I’m not editing, writing, or reading, I’m playing Pokémon for the umpteenth time.
